Driving yourself doesn't mean organising everything yourself. We plan the route, book the accommodation and tell you which stretches are realistic in a day — that is the point at which self-drive trips in Africa usually come apart.
The countries differ a great deal here. South Africa is closer to European conditions; in Tanzania, Botswana or Zambia, distances and roads are another matter. We'll say openly which routes suit self-driving and which are better guided.
While you're away we are reachable — not as a hotline, but as a number where someone picks up who knows your route.
